A little bit about brianna
I have always been very interested in history, and wanted to learn more about the Holocaust after I read The Diary of Anne Frank. Her story touched my heart, and I thought it was tragic that she had passed away, along with millions of other victims of the Holocaust.
My grandma, who raised me, was the one who introduced me to several movies about the Holocaust. One night, we sat together on the couch and watched Schindler's List. This movie truly pulled my heartstrings, and we both cried at the end. A few days later, I wrote a short story based on the little girl in red for my creative writing class. My history teacher read it, and said that it was an excellent story. One day, I decided to start making it into a novel. I wanted to include some historical aspects that weren't discussed a lot in most of the fiction (and non-fiction) books that I have read. Namely, I included Irma Grese and the Kanada Warehouses in Auschwitz into my novel.
I live in Toronto, Ontario, with my husband, William, and two mischievous cats. I enjoy going to the gym, spending time with friends and family, and reading. The Dark Clouds Above Us is my first novel.
